9. How to prepare for MR test?
o special preparation for the test is required. However, as you may need to be given an injection of contrast agent (for a better differentiation, especially in surgical procedures), you should not eat anything two hours before the scan. Before taking the test you should also drink about 1 litre of black currant juice. It is essential for a better differentiation of pathological lesions and better view of the patient’s vessels.

10. I have a cardiac pacemaker. Can I have MR test taken?
No, you can’t. It is a serious contraindication. You are not allowed to enter the room with the magnetic resonance device.

11. How to prepare for CAT Scan?

12. What is angiography CAT scan test?
Angiography is a medical test used to examine blood vessels in key areas of the body. It uses imaging technologies and a contrast material to produce pictures of major blood vessels throughout the body. It helps to:
- identify disease and aneurysms of aorta
- detect atherosclerosis disease in the carotid artery of neck, which may limit blood flow to the brain and cause a stroke
- identify a small aneurysm or arteriovenous malformation inside the brain
- detect atherosclerotic disease that has narrowed the arteries to the legs and help prepare for endovascular intervention or surgery
- plan for a surgical operation, such as coronary bypass
- examine pulmonary arteries in the lungs to detect pulmonary embolism (blood clots from leg veins)

13. What is the difference between 3D/4D and 2D ultrasound test?
A 3D ultrasound is performed using the exact same machine as a 2D ultrasound. The difference is a 2D ultrasound visualizes the baby in planes/layers and a 3D ultrasound looks at the surface of the baby. The term 4D simply means the element of motion has been added to a still 3D photo. 4D is also referred to as 3D Live because you can see your baby moving. With a 2D ultrasound, the sonographer can view different layers of the baby, from the outer extremities to the internal organs.

14. What is ultrasonography ?

ltrasonography is an ultrasound-based diagnostic imaging technique used to visualize subcutaneous body structures including tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and internal organs for possible pathology or lesions. Sonography can be enhanced with Doppler measurements, which employ the Doppler effect to assess whether structures (usually blood) are moving towards or away from the probe, and its relative velocity. Our Ultrasound Laboratory is equipped with the high class Doppler ultrasound devices.
We are able to test:
- blood flow in vessels (for example cerebripetal and cervical vessels – arteriosclerosis, stenosis)
- limb angiomas (varices, blood supply disorder, ulceration)
- renal artery (hypertension diagnostics)
- we also provide the software for heart test - echocardiogram (echo heart test)
